Steven Schacter, JD

As a Senior Vice President with Forest Hills Financial Group (FHFG) for over 34 years, Steven J. Schacter’s mission is to listen to his clients’ financial dreams, work with them to create a plan and then implement that plan to make his clients’ dreams a reality.  

Steven counsels his clientele on wealth building and distribution planning.  Regardless of a client’s stage of life, wealth is built and protected for generations to come.  Steven  has the unique ability to connect with people in a confident and assuring way, motivating them to take the required action. 

The heart of Steven’s practice is working with successful business owners to help reduce their business’ tax liability through qualified retirement plans.  In most cases, a new plan can be implemented or an existing plan can be redesigned for improved tax strategies. These strategies can also provide the owner and their family with a larger percentage of plan assets.   

Steven  graduated from Syracuse University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1974.  He received his Juris Doctorate from Ohio Northern University in 1976 and was admitted to the New York Bar in 1977. Prior to joining FHFG,  Steven  clerked for United  States District Court Judge Irving Ben Cooper in the Southern District of New York. 

In 1986,  his first year with FHFG,  Steven was recognized as “New Agent of the Year”,  leading all new sales people in The Guardian Life Insurance Company of America throughout the United States. In 1990, he was promoted to Senior Vice President and has been honored as a perennial leader of FHFG.  Steven’s consistent high level of production is a direct reflection of the relationships he has built with his clientele. 

A strong sense of industry and community keep  Steven active and involved.  He maintains offices in NY and South Florida.  Steven resides with his wife Elise and black Labrador, Scout in Chappaqua, New York and Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
